The Transportation Planning Department was established in May of 2009 to provide technical management on road construction and other transportation related projects.  Since that time we have been continually active in creating and progressing through Tribal Transportation Priority Projects.  The department also takes the role of liaison for the Pyramid Lake Paiute Tribe when working with the BIA Transportation Department, Federal Transit Administration and Federal Highway Administration as well as other transportation related entities.

Vision
The Tribal Transportation Planning Department’s Vision is to assist the Tribal community through the planning and growth of transportation services in the Pyramid Lake Tribal Area.

Mission
Through the assistance of the Tribal leaders, The Pyramid Lake Paiute Tribe’s Tribal Transportation Planning Department’s mission is to build and improve systems of transportation through the use of transportation grants and other funding sources. We strive to work with all appropriate departments and entities in order to achieve our goals, and in the process provide local jobs and economic growth. Our building of transportation services will strive to enhance the scenic, natural, and cultural resources of Pyramid Lake.
